Prepare to Change Counseling provides psychotherapy, psychological assessment and evaluation, and specialized clinical services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Our clinicians bring diverse areas of training and experience, allowing us to provide individualized care for a wide range of emotional, behavioral, relational, developmental, and life concerns. We also provide specialized psychological evaluations and professional services for individuals, families, professionals, and organizations.

We provide individualized psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, and children experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, grief, and other emotional or behavioral concerns. Treatment is tailored to each client’s needs, with an emphasis on understanding underlying patterns, strengthening coping and resilience, and supporting meaningful, lasting change.

We provide therapy for children, adolescents, and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, developmental, and relational concerns. Treatment may address anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, parenting challenges, life transitions, and difficulties with emotional regulation. Our clinicians work collaboratively with children and families to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and support healthy development and family functioning.

We provide clinical supervision and consultation for pre-licensed and licensed clinicians, as well as consultation for parents and other professionals seeking guidance regarding clinical, behavioral, developmental, relational, or family concerns. For clinicians, services may include case consultation, case conceptualization, ethical and professional issues, treatment planning, and professional development. Parent and professional consultation is tailored to the specific concern and may help clarify needs, identify appropriate interventions or resources, and determine helpful next steps.

We provide individual and group anger management services for adults seeking to better understand and manage anger, improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, and develop healthier responses to conflict and stress. Services focus on identifying triggers and patterns, developing practical coping and communication skills, and increasing awareness of the emotional and relational factors that may contribute to anger.

We provide comprehensive psychological evaluations for individuals and families involved in immigration proceedings. Evaluations are tailored to the specific referral question and may address psychological symptoms, trauma history, family circumstances, and the emotional impact of separation or other significant stressors. A detailed written report is prepared to clearly communicate relevant clinical findings for use by the client and their immigration attorney.

We provide independent psychological evaluations for Veterans and service members addressing mental health concerns related to military service. Evaluations may include diagnostic assessment, review of relevant records, psychological testing when clinically appropriate, and careful consideration of the relationship between psychological symptoms, military experiences, and service-connected medical conditions. Each evaluation is tailored to the specific referral question and supported by a comprehensive written report.

We provide psychotherapy addressing sexual functioning, differences in desire, intimacy and relationship concerns, and problematic sexual behaviors. Treatment is individualized and may include exploration of emotional, relational, behavioral, and psychological factors that affect sexual health, intimacy, and relationships.

We work with couples seeking to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, understand recurring patterns, rebuild trust, and navigate conflict, intimacy concerns, life transitions, and other relational challenges. Therapy provides a collaborative space to better understand both partners’ experiences and develop healthier, more meaningful ways of relating to one another.

We provide comprehensive psychological assessment and specialized evaluations to clarify diagnoses, better understand cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and psychological functioning, and address specific clinical or referral questions. Services include ADHD and cognitive assessment, immigration psychological evaluations, occupational and public safety evaluations, Workers’ Compensation evaluations, Veterans and service-related evaluations, and other specialized assessments.

We offer educational workshops, therapeutic and psychoeducational groups, and seminars addressing a variety of psychological, relational, parenting, and professional topics. Programs may be developed for individuals, families, clinicians, organizations, and community groups and can be tailored to the needs and interests of the participants.

We offer group consultation for pre-licensed and licensed clinicians seeking a collaborative space to discuss clinical work, deepen case conceptualization, and learn from the perspectives and experiences of other professionals. Groups may address complex cases, treatment challenges, relational and psychodynamic processes, ethical considerations, and professional development.

We provide psychological services for individuals experiencing work-related psychological injuries and occupational stress. Services include psychotherapy focused on recovery, symptom management, coping, and return-to-work functioning, as well as psychological evaluations addressing work-related psychological concerns. We collaborate with patients, referral sources, and other involved professionals as appropriate to support treatment and clarify clinical needs.

We provide specialized psychological evaluations for public safety and other occupational settings. Services include psychological suitability and fitness-related evaluations, concealed carry weapon (CCW) psychological assessments, and independent psychological evaluations addressing occupational functioning and specific referral questions. We also provide psychological evaluation and consultation related to California POST appeals. Evaluations are conducted with attention to the requirements of the referring agency, applicable professional standards, and the specific purpose of the assessment.
